Shubham, who considers his father as a role model, says that even during the period of financial bankruptcy, his father’s ‘Never Say Die Spirit’ inspired him a lot.

There comes a time in everyone’s life when things are happening in opposition to you, or even after trying many times, there is the only failure. But, should we be disappointed and let down by failure?

Every failure tells us that more effort is needed. So we should not stop trying. What if our victory is guaranteed in our next or last attempt.

After attempting for the fourth time in the IAS exam Shubham Gupta secured the sixth position in the All India Rank list. Even after three attempts Shubham did not give up on not achieving his goal and finally succeeded in the fourth attempt.

Shubham Gupta Success Story Started In 2015:

In his first attempt in the year 2015, Shubham could not pass the preliminary examination. Then in the year 2016, he made his second attempt and cleared all stages – prelims, mains, and interviews and got 366th rank. And he was selected in Indian Audit and Account Service.

In the year 2017, Shubham tried again but this time he could not clear the prelims exam. This was his third attempt. But he still did not give up, and after attempting for the fourth time in the year 2018, and got the 6th rank in the IAS Exam 2018.

The family financial condition was not good, he used to study at the shop:

Shubham completed his early education from Jaipur, Rajasthan. Then because of financial conditions, his family moved to Dahanu Road, in Maharashtra.

Shubham completed his 8th to 12th school education in a school near Vapi, Gujarat. He and his entire family was struggling financially.

To help his family, Shubham worked every day at his father’s shop on Dahanu Road after coming from his school in Vapi. But he never stops studying even in the days of struggle.

So he used to take his books to the shop to use his time in the shop. He also studied while working. In this way, in the school examination, Shubham got good marks.

Shubham tells that believing in yourself is the most important thing to prepare for the IAS Exam. One should not feel despair at the time of failure because success and failure are part of life.

The second most important thing is to give 100% of your preparation. He also says to find and build up such an environment that helps you bring out your best capabilities.

How did Shubham prepare for the preliminary exam:

In the year 2015, for the very first time, Shubham started preparing for the preliminary examination and he started reading the newspaper for that. This helped him to know what is happening around in matters like the environment, national and international affairs, or the Indian economy.

Then he started preparing for the subject. After picking a topic and then go through the NCERT book on that particular topic. He divided the courses and completed the subjects one by one. Along with this, he also practiced mock tests to assess his strength and weakness.

Strategy created for the main exam:

Shubham tells that you have to get in-depth knowledge of the subjects for the main exam to express yourself well in the exam. I started making notes for my elective from the very beginning of my preparatory exam preparation. And mainly focused on the answer writing practice.

I used to solve GS 1, 2 3, 4 papers, optional 1 and 2 subject papers, and 2 mock tests of essay writing papers. Shubham explains that even if you do not know the answer in the descriptive paper yet your focus should be to complete the paper.

According to Shubham, maintaining your level of confidence and patience during the interview round is perhaps the most important thing. Managing stress levels before the interview round help you feel light. Shubham reveals that he used to eat chocolate to make himself stress-free and relaxed.

Then when you enter the interview board room, try to calm yourself in the starting of 2 minutes. If you greet the interviewer well and are able to take your seat well in the first few minutes of the interview, it will help maintain your confidence and help you answer knowledge-based questions.

During the interview, if you try to bring the interviewer’s attention to the topics you have knowledge of, it will hell you to feel better.

This does not mean that you can lead the interview. But, if you get a chance take it and make the most of it.

Father Is A Role Model In Shubham Gupta Success Story:

For Shubham his father is his role model because he has done a lot for the family. Even after battling financial bankruptcy, he managed to improve and bring balance to our lives. His ‘Never Say Die Spirit’ really inspires me.
